Youmeo was born as a social network for local nightclub goers from the West Midlands in 2005. It was founded by 15 year old Calum Brannan in his bedroom and way back then it ran under the name of pplparty.

Over a period of 2 years as social networking grew and grew our community expanded outwards reaching all ends of the world. We realised our members didn't want to just party, some wanted to keep in contact with their friends, some wanted to chat, some wanted to just make friends! So, we had a good think (over a cuppa!) and rebranded the site with a whole new view and perspective. Youmeo was then born in early 2008.

The name "Youmeo" is a play on the words "you and me online". Those words make up what Youmeo is all about, connecting you with others around you.

The team behind Youmeo are a hard working bunch of people who enjoy fairtrade tea (let us know if you find fairtrade vodka). Pushing boundaries really makes us tick and we will always look to improve the wheel not just re-use it. Innovating is something we will never stop doing!

What makes Youmeo different is that we encourage you to bring, import, update and synchronize all of your social networks, photo sharing, video broadcasting and music platforms into one social space. In essence creating what we like to call the Ultimate Open Journey.
