Now, we all love using the internet: shopping, chatting, emailing, gaming and stuff but we all need to understand the importance of staying safe online.

As the internet grows so do the dangers and this little guide is here to enlighten you on exactly what you can do to stay safe and what we'll do to help you along the way.

Simple Youmeo rules for staying safe:

1. Never give out any of your personal information such as addresses, telephone numbers, parent's e-mails or the name / location of your school. You never know who might want that information.
2. Tell Youmeo Support the moment you find any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.
3. Never agree to get together with someone you meet online without first checking it out with your parents / guardian - meeting people you don't know can be dangerous, they could be anyone! If your parents agree to the meeting make sure it's in a public place and bring someone along to keep you safe.
4. Don't send people pictures of yourself over e-mail or chat if they ask you to, make sure you know exactly who they are and what they want your photos for... never be afraid to challenge someone's request.
5. Try not to respond to any messages that are mean or that make you feel uncomfortable, it's not your fault you've got messages like that - contact Youmeo Support straight away and we'll sort it all out for you.
6. Never ever give out your Youmeo password to anyone (even your best friends!) but give it to your parents if they want to check what your doing - they are there to help you, just like us.
7. Never access any links or download any files that anyone on Youmeo sends to you unless you know exactly who's sending it and exactly what it is, it could be anything... even a virus!
8. Never say anything on Youmeo that is against the law or that hurts other people. If something's bothering you - contact Youmeo Support.
9. Youmeo has a strict no bullying or racist policy, so if you feel you are being targeted please contact Youmeo Support and we will handle it appropriately.
10. If your parents are worried about you using Youmeo, use it with them... show them how it works and show them what we do and what you do keep yourself safe and away from danger!
